DOWNTOWN POWELL FARMERS MARKET

 

THURSDAYS 3 to 6PM, June through September 

Many new farmers, crafters & artisans have joined the Thursday market this year.              

Delicious home-made baked goods & breads; fresh locally grown fruits & vegetables; honey; organics; herbs; beautiful plants, flowers & greenery; lemonaide; and much, much more.Accepting Delaware County Senior Nutrition Vouchers offered by the Council for Older Adults. Plenty of FREE safe parking; free admission; markets held rain or shine.Join us every Thursday in 2010.  2010 CONTRACT : RULES AND REGULATIONS 

_______ MARKETING (initial here)             HISTORIC DOWNTOWN POWELL, INC.”  the nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and revitalizing downtown Powell, will lead a comprehensive, organized marketing and advertising campaign for our Market, increasing your visibility, sales and profits. Special appearances may include entertainment such as live music, visiting mascots and more. Market Manager (staff) will oversee the Market and has final authority on all special requests or decisions related to the market. 

_______ LOCATION (initial here)             The Market with 28 spaces is located in the northwest portion of the City of Powell Municipal Building parking lot, just south of W. Olentangy Street (also known as Powell Road) at 47 Hall Street, Powell, OH  43065. There are also nearly 150 free public parking spaces for customer parking. Farmers may park in their booth only if space permits. 

________ BOOTH SIZE (initial here)            

Double Booth:  2 public parking spaces or 18 feet wide x 19 feet deep

Triple Booth:     3 public parking spaces or 27 feet wide x 19 feet deep

4-Space Booth:  4 public parking spaces or 36 feet wide x 19 feet deep       

All items (self-provided tents, tables, chairs, etc.) must fit within assigned booth. Vendors may park vehicles in booth if all items fit within assigned space.  

________ LICENSES/PERMITS (initial here)             It is the vendor’s responsibility to obtain all licenses and permits, and to pay the fees required by state government. Includes license for goods sold for which sales tax must be paid. A permit to sell in the City of Powell is not necessary.       

_______ SPACE ASSIGNMENT(initial here)             Reserved spaces are limited. Spaces will be pre-assigned by Market Manager first to seasonal vendors, then to daily vendors. Set up time for each market is between 2:00-2:30PM. If a vendor has not arrived by 2:30PM, reserved space may be re-assigned unless telephoning (740) 815-8508 about the delay 24-hrs in advance. More than 1 “no show” (without 24-hr notification) may cancel Contract without refund.

  ________ LABELING (initial here)             ORGANIC Farmers are to display proper certification at each market. Products may not be sold under the ORGANIC name without proper certification. If any products qualify as Cottage Foods, Delaware General Health District industry rules must be strictly followed.  

________ SMOKING(initial here)             Smoking is prohibited during Market hours: 3-6PM.  

________ INSURANCE (initial here)          All vendors must have proof of own liability insurance.  

________ CLEAN UP (initial here)             Each vendor is required to clean their area of all refuse. Vendors may not use public trash cans or leave/sweep any debris into street, sidewalks or parking lots.  

________ DISPUTES (initial here)             Each vendor has the right to discuss any/all Market disagreements with Manager but must do so outside of Market grounds; may not attempt to settle any disagreements with vendors on Market grounds; may lose any/all fees with failure to comply with any Market rules.    

_______ PRODUCTS (initial here)             Products sold in the Market must be produced locally. A small percentage of produce may be obtained directly from other local growers if properly signed. Handmade arts, crafts, and homemade baked goods, cheeses, jams, etc. welcomed (provided they meet all state and local regulations). If any products qualify as Cottage Foods, Delaware General Health District industry rules must be strictly followed. All products must be listed:
